Static Kit is a free collection of artificial noise samples carefully crafted by Dustyroom. These samples were designed to imitate sounds and artifacts of vintage analog playback devices and machines like cassette players, VCR’s, old TV’s, record players and other unknown sources of sound.
Inside the kit you can expect to find dozens of noise samples reminiscent of radio interference, pops, machinery hum, vinyl crackle and dust, tape hiss and other nostalgic sounding textures. Using these layers can add real world flavor and non-linearity to basically any source of audio when mixed subtly.
All of the sounds were made using a combination of hardware and software synthesizers and creative audio processing chains, avoiding plugins that specialize in audio degradation and vinyl effects.
